Asa – The Marked Men – Jay Crownover – Book Review

Hi guys! Today I’m here to talk you about the book “Asa” by Jay Crownover. This love story is the sixth and last chapter of the series “The Marked Men”, so if you haven’t already, go and read my articles about the other books, “Rule”, “Jet”, “Rome”, “Nash” and “Rowdy” and then come back here.

Also, if you wanna know the details of this story go watch my YouTube video about it. https://youtu.be/VJlZI0-EXqg

And now, let’s talk about the book! In this story, as always, there are two main protagonists: Asa and Royal and many other characters that if you have read the other books you already know.

Asa Cross is a hot, southern man with slow speech and amber-colored eyes. In his few years of life, he has been in and out of jail many more times than anyone could imagine; he attracts troubles and they have just lead him to almost dying because of an awful beating. After this life-changing experience he’s trying to focus only on his work at Rome’s bar because the truth is that he has to fight every day in order to not fall back into old patterns and be the man his sister would be proud of. For all these reasons Asa thinks he doesn’t deserve anything more from life, too many people have suffered because of him and now he believes he deserves everything that happens to him. Asa Cross thinks is life is over but little does he know that the best is just about to come.

Royal Hastings is a sexy, redhead policewoman with a sparkling personality but right now she’s living the worst moment of her life. Her forever best-friend and partner at work Dominic has been shot during a mission and she blame herself for what happened. She can’t get over this situation, no matter how many people try to convince her the other way she can’t help but think it’s all her fault and she’s determined to devastate herself for it. The form she chose to achieve this aim though is quite bizarre: she wants to have sex with the southern bartender that stool her heart by all means, but he doesn’t seem to make things easy for her.

Will Asa be able to resist Royal’s attempts of seduction for long? Or in the end he will surrender to the passion that is growing between them?

And will Royal be able to get through the idea of untouchability Asa has created around her? But at the same time will she manage to get over her suffering and realize that the world is not all on her shoulders?

Salem is an independent, strong woman full of self-confidence and she has never felt like she was missing something in her life until she saw Rowdy’s eyes again and she remembered all she had left behind.

What would happen if Rowdy sees Salem again? What if his closest friend, who broke his heart first, is now back into his life determined to stay forever? What if his one big love was just his first love and now he is ready for his last love? What if Salem is “The One”?

And Salem? She has give up all her life in a second for Rowdy and she has decided to prove him that her sister was never right for him. But the thing is that she doesn’t know all the story and what if it’s too much to carry? What if their past is like a giant elephant in the room that just can’t be ignored?

Nash – The Marked Men – Jay Crownover – Book Review

Hi guys! Today I’m here to talk you about the book “Nash” by Jay Crownover. This love story is the fourth chapter of the serie “The Marked Men”, so if you haven’t already, go and read my articles about the first three books, “Rule”, “Jet” and “Rome” and then come back here.

Also, if you wanna know the details of the story go watch my YouTube video about it. https://youtu.be/CBpos-BMqyo

And now, let’s get into it! In the story there are two main protagonists: Nash and Saint and many other characters that if you have read the other books, you already know.

Nash Donovan is a passionate, lonely, hot man with periwinkle deep eyes who works at the tattoo studio with Rule, Cora and Rowdy and they, together with some other friends, are his only family. To be honest, he also has an uncle, Phil Donovan, who taught him everything he knows about tattoos and made him the man he is, but now Phil is really sick and he is about to leave Nash forever. His biological father has abandoned him, or at least this is what Nash thinks has happened. His mother, on the other hand, only cares about her husband, an insipid, pompous, judging man who despises Nash more than anything else. In spite of all this Nash is a really good guy, responsible, caring and thoughtful; but when he was younger he wasn’t quite the same.

Saint Ford is a shy, sweet, generous nurse with kind grey eyes and long red hair. She is also really insecure because when she was younger she was overweight and this caused her lots of problems. All began when her first crush unconsciously broke her heart: his name was Nash Donovan and after all the pain he caused her, Saint was never able to open her heart again to someone. Saint is a really beautiful person, nice, caring, open-handed and helpful, she would give everything she has to help the others because she is really selfless.

Considering all this, what would happen if Nash suddenly reappeared in her life? What if after all he has done she is still attracted by him? But mostly, what if she misunderstood what had happened in the past?

And Nash? What if he has always liked her? What if, now that they are both adults, his weak feeling for her becomes a burning passion? What if she is the only solid, true thing in his life in this moment?

Saint will have to put herself out there for this relationship but will she be able to really forgive him? And at the end will Nash be worth the risk?

Rome doesn’t know what to do with his life and in the meantime he can’t help hurting the people who loves him. Everyone says that he is a good guy who is just going through a hard time, but Cora seems to have a different opinion about it.

Cora Lewis is a colorful punk-rock tinker bell, a tiny girl full of energy and sassy. She has very particular eyes: one is a sparkling light-blue and the other one is a deep, warm brown. She isn’t afraid of telling what she thinks and she has definitely got attitude. However, under all of this, she is still recovering from a broken heart and she is determined to never suffer like that again: for this reason she will wait for the perfect man. Unfortunately, she is usually right, so useless are all her friends’ efforts to make her change her mind. The hard truth, tho, is that perfection doesn’t exist and she’s destined to fail her projects.

Rome Archer is the opposite of the way a perfect man is supposed to be, but what if he is the perfect imperfect man for Cora? What if all her colors are the only thing to keep him from get lost in the grey of his mind? What if she is the solution to all his demons and fears?

But will Cora be able to get over her past? Will she be willing to step outside her comfort zone and embrace her feelings when something bigger happens? Or is she just too broken to heal and love again?

Only time will say if they will overcome their fears and scars, but until that moment prepare yourself to get run over by the overwhelming passion of these two characters.

Cora is a piercer who works with Rule, while Ayden is Shaw’s best friend. Jet’s idea of love is very messed up: his parents have a toxic relationship that is really affecting his mother, but she just loves her husband too much to leave him, even if it’s for her own good. Jet’s father on the other hand doesn’t care a damn thing about his wife and he would prefer being on tour with a famous band always drunk and dragged, than staying home with her. Despite not wanting to become a famous artist, Jet is very talented and his dream is discover new bands and make them famous, he has his own recording studio and a band that is his other family. Jet Keller is passionate, outstanding, unique, outrageous and angry with the whole world, but, probably, this is also why he makes such good music.

Ayden Cross is a southern beauty with mile-long legs and eyes that as Jet says “go to someone’s head faster than a taste of Jameson”. She has a dark, awful past that no-one knows and that she’s trying to forget as much as she can. Since when she came to Colorado she has had a very clear idea of how her life is supposed to be: getting a degree and then a job in other to guarantee herself a solid future. However this is not what life has planned for her. Jet Keller is the opposite of what Ayden is looking for in a man, even so she can’t put out the fire he sets her on. She feels like for him she would throw away all she has worked for and this scares her to death. Ayden has a spunky, funny, sparkling personality and a strong attitude that really defines her, but the problem is that she is stuck between that girl she was in Texas and the woman she is in Colorado and she can’t find a way out.

What would happen if all the limits and boundaries Ayden has set for herself were blown away by Jet? What if he’s able to accept both the old and the new Ayden? What if she can create a solid future without having to give up the way Jet makes her feel?

And what if love isn’t how Jet has experienced it? What if he can love a woman without destroying her the way his father has destroyed his mother? What if all the anger he always feels get replaced with an overwhelming love that doesn’t leave space for anything else?

Will they finally find peace, acceptance and love or will their stubbornness lead them to hurt each other even more?

Rule – The Marked Men – Jay Crownover – Book review

Hi guys! Today I’m gonna talk you about the book “Rule” by Jay Crownover. It’s a love story and the first book of the serie “The marked men”.

If you wanna know something more about the plot of the story go watch my YouTube video about it. https://youtu.be/sb0BoJpWA9o

So, now, let’s get into it! There are two main characters in this story and many others that are part of their everyday life and are gonna be the protagonists of the other books of “The Marked Men” serie.

Rule Archer is wild, proud, careless and has got temper. He breaks rules and makes new ones. He doesn’t care about anything or anyone other than himself, not since his twin brother Remi died three years before. He is covered in tattoos and piercings; is tall, hot and damned, and he has blue deep eyes that seem like a snow storm when emotions get through them. Rule is a tattoo artist and he works with some of his best friends, they are his other family. Because the truth is, that with his real family he has a really bad relationship: his parents criticize and disapprove every single choice he makes, from the color of his hair to his work. His other brother, Rome, is a soldier of the United States Army, so in Colorado, where he lives, he has no one that cares about him, or, at least, this is what he thinks.

Shaw Landon is the perfect college student with the perfect country club boyfriend. Too bad that she has just left him because in six months of relationship he made her feel nothing, not even a shred of the roller coster she feels when she is with Rule. He is all of her world especially since when her best friend Remi, Rule’s twin, died leaving her with two secrets to keep: the unconditional love she feels for Rule since the first moment she saw him and a truth about Remi’s life that is not her place to reveal. Shaw is a tiny, beautiful girl with very pale skin and sweet green eyes that makes her seem a princess; Rule calls her Casper because of how pale she is and even though she used to hate that stupid nickname, she’ll realize that deep down it makes her feel special and unique. Although Rule seems to not care at all about it, Shaw spends every Sunday with him and his family, because no matter how dysfunctional it’s, is always better than hers: a family in which her parents are more interested in their social position and hating each other than they are in their daughter’s happiness to the point where they are gonna be the cause of a very dangerous situation.

What will happen when Rule realizes that Shaw isn’t as perfect as he pictured her to be? What if she isn’t that unreachable after all? What if suddenly she becomes his whole world?

Will he learn how to take care of another person and how to let someone break down the walls he built around his heart? And will she learn that there is someone who accept her for who she really is and for whom she doesn’t have to change at all?

This is it for this story, I hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for the second book of the serie, “Jet“, coming this Sunday at 12 p.m. together with a YouTube video about it. Don’t forget to comment, follow me and let me know whether you prefer the blog or the video form and also give me advice about how to improve. Bye.

What about this Blog? Am I writing a book?

Hi guys! My name is Anna and I’m 19 years old. I’m from Italy and I love reading and writing stories, love stories. This blog is also gonna be linked to my Youtube channel, on which I upload once a week. Both, on the blog and the channel, I’m gonna talk about love stories I’ve read and I love, so if you’re interested go follow me on that too.

So, now, what can I say about me? Actually, there is a quote I found some months ago that really suits me and there it is…

“Right now, I’m just living my best life. I’m focused on myself. I’m falling in love with who I am. I’m excited about where I was headed, and I’m excited about what’s next. I have so many goals, so many dreams, so much ambition, and I’m constantly finding new passions. I’m learning to be spontaneous. I’m learning to take risks. And I’m constantly stepping outside of my comfort zone. You see – right now, I’m just chasing the things that make me happy. I’m chasing the things that feed my soul. And to be honest with you – I could care less about what anybody else is doing. I could care less about what anybody else thinks. Because right now, my life is filled with so much peace. So much light. So much growth. So much faith. And so much hope. And right now, I’m just living my best life – and there’s absolutely nothing, or no one that can get in the way of this.”

Yes, that’s powerful. Every time I read it, I just think “Wow: that’s really me in this moment”. Right now, I’m focused on understand what I want to achieve in my life and how to do it. And doing so, I’m learning so much about myself, my passions, my dreams, my goals.

Never in my life, I’ve ever thought I would be so passionate about writing, but now, here I am, writing my first book, “Just us.”, and there’s nothing I love most than it. By the way if you are interested in it, I’ve talked about the book plot in my first Youtube video and I’ve published what I’ve written so far on my Wattpad profile, so go check them. I really enjoy writing because it challenges me and develops my creativity. Every time I’m reading a story I end up changing it in my mind, imaging new or different scenes. I’ll have to say that I’m a little bit excessive and dramatic when it comes to my imagination and I think that’s a really good quality for a romance author because come on, how boring is a love story without a bit of drama?

Why I opened this Blog? Well, personally I think is just an other way to express my opinions and share with you things I like, in this case love stories, while practicing with my writing. Also I would love to hear from you what you think about my reviews and the books in general so don’t forget to comment!

Hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for what’s next, because in this week I’m gonna add some extra posts.
